Imrooz’s social responsibility drives its passion from the belief that real progress is achieved through investing in people.Imrooz is an active supporter of The Citizens Foundation (TCF), a not-for-profit company providing quality education in less privileged areas by building and operating purpose-built-schools. The Co-Chairman of Imrooz, Mr. Ateed Riaz is one of the Co-Founder-Directors of TCF and for the period July 2002 – April 2005, he was also the Chief Executive at TCF. From the first 5 schools in 1996, TCF has now progressed to 1652 school units nationwide, across 109 different towns and cities, with an enrollment of 266,000 students, having a balanced gender ratio close to 50% female students. The Economist in January 2018 called it “…….. perhaps the largest network of independently run schools in the world…..”. The organization has created 18,000 jobs of which over 15,000 are female positions. This makes TCF the highest employer of women in Pakistan in the private sector. TCF is one of the highest–rated certified organizations by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy.
